Warranty Coverage

Standard Warranty for Used Engines & Transmissions

We provide tailored warranty durations based on the year of manufacture:

  • 1990 & Earlier: 1-month replacement and return warranty
  • 1991–2000: 3-month replacement and return warranty
  • 2001–2024:6-month replacement and return warranty

Extended Warranty Options (For 2001–2024 Models Only)

  • 12 Months – Add 10% of the order total
  • 24 Months – Add 20% of the order total
  • 36 Months – Add 30% of the order total

Our warranties cover essential internal engine and transmission components:

  • Blocks, heads, pistons, crankshafts, camshafts, and rockers

Warranty Terms & Conditions

  • Coverage Scope: Only internal components listed above are covered. External accessories such as switches, sensors, cables, belts, hoses, gaskets, and water pumps are not.
  • Appearance Disclaimer: Engines may be up to 35 years old and may not look new. All parts are pre-tested. Do not refuse delivery based on appearance. Contact us if there’s an issue. Refusals incur a 25% restocking fee + round-trip shipping.
  • Cancellation Policy: Cancel within 24 hours to avoid fees. After that, a 25% restocking fee and shipping charges apply if the order has shipped.
  • Returns & Replacements: We cover shipping for approved warranty returns. Refusing a valid replacement will be treated as a cancellation.
  • Compatibility Responsibility: We use VIN tools to verify fitment. If incorrect information is given, the customer pays for return shipping and any price differences.
  • Support Access: Reach out during your warranty period for troubleshooting or assistance. Retaining a defective item beyond 30 days can void the warranty.
  • Non-Transferable Warranty: Only valid for the original purchaser.
  • Labor Not Included: Warranty covers parts only. Labor costs are not covered unless agreed to in writing.
  • Non-Refundable Deposits: Deposits for special orders or part holds are non-refundable.
  • Liability Limitations: Yard and Parts is not liable for towing, downtime, transport, or any indirect damages resulting from a part failure.

Warranty Will Be Voided If:

  • Visible Damage Not Reported Within 7 Days: After 7 days, only functional failures can be claimed.
  • Pre-Installation Steps Ignored: Not completing our pre-installation checklist invalidates the warranty.
  • No Diagnostic Report: Claims require a diagnostic report from an ASE-certified mechanic.
  • 30-Day Reporting Window: Any damage or failure must be reported within 30 days of receiving the item.
  • Incorrect Installation or Abuse: Accidents, improper use, or unauthorized modifications void the warranty.
  • Overheating or Oil Starvation: Damage due to overheating or lack of lubrication is not covered.
  • Missing/Melted Heat Tabs: Warranty is void if heat tabs are missing or show overheating signs.
  • Electronic Failures: Electrical components are not covered.
  • Seal or Gasket Leaks: Oil leaks from failed seals or gaskets are excluded.
  • Part Alterations: Modifying or returning altered merchandise voids the warranty.
  • No Troubleshooting Before Removal: Dismantling the part before inspection voids coverage.

Transmission Warranty Policies

To maintain transmission warranty coverage, follow these requirements:

  • Replace the filter, pan gasket, and front seal
  • Seat torque converter properly
  • Flush coolers and lines thoroughly
  • Replace any external sensors or computers as needed (not covered)
  • Reprogram the vehicle computer when required
  • Clear error codes and submit new ones for any warranty claims
  • Transmission must be inspected while installed before issuing a return authorization
  • Complete all manufacturer-required reprogramming
  • In some cases, valve body or TCM replacement may be necessary

CVT Transmission Warranty

To protect your CVT transmission warranty:

  • Replace the transmission controller—this is mandatory
  • Use OEM fluid only, such as genuine Nissan CVT fluid
  • Follow manufacturer installation guidelines, or choose our installation service

Note

Our warranty on all non-engine/non-transmission parts is valid for 30 days from the delivery date.
