Yards and Parts Inc. Used Engine and Parts Warranty Policy (Parts Only)

General Warranty Coverage and Exclusions

• The engine warranty covers the block, heads, and all internals (pistons, crankshafts, camshafts, connecting rods, main bearings, camshaft bearings, intake and exhaust valves, valve springs, oil pump, push rods, rocker arms, hydraulic lifters, and rocker arm shafts). The engine block and cylinder heads are covered only if damaged by a covered component.
• Seals and gaskets are only covered if part of a repair or replacement of covered components. Leaking gaskets or seals are not covered.
• Accessories such as bolt-on components, wiring, and sensors are not warranted.
• Accessories attached are not covered, including but not limited to switches, sensors, cables, electronics, belts, hoses, water pumps, manifolds, wire harnesses, valve covers, brackets, and flywheels.
• Injectors, high-pressure oil pumps, and high-pressure fuel injectors are specifically excluded under this category, as are those components that do not form part of the core engine.
• We do not warranty oil leaks or damage to engines or transmissions due to non replaced seals, gaskets, or filters.
• The warranty is bound by the appearance of producing defects in the block, heads, and internal core components.
• We do not warranty the appearance of any part.
• OEM car parts are those that can fit into more than one different year, make, and model. We guarantee that the part we sell fits your vehicle.
• Engines are tested, visually inspected, and cleaned.
• Yards and Parts Inc. warranty the original retail purchaser that each used engine sold shall be free from knocking, excessive oil consumption, and cracks in the block, subject to the following terms.
• Engine Definition: Engine shall mean a used engine assembly, basic block, cylinder head, and internal components supplied by Yards and Parts Inc. Everything else is left on for convenience purposes only.

Warranty Activation and Duration

• The part must be installed, and the warranty is activated within 10 business days of delivery. Henceforth, the warranty reverts to a 6-Month Parts Only Limited Warranty from the original date of purchase and installation for engines, as well as a 3-Month Parts Only Limited Warranty for all other parts.

5-Year Parts Only Coverage Options (for Gas Engines)

• Premium Gas Engine: Coverage will expire at either 60 months from the order date, or 50,000 miles from the odometer at the time of installation, whichever comes first.

Lower Priced Options for Gas Engines

• 36 months / 36,000 miles, or 12 months / 12,000 miles (whichever comes first) may also be extended.

Other Parts Only Coverage Options

• Economy Gas and Truck Engine: Coverage will expire either 36 months from the order date, or 36,000 miles from the odometer at the time of installation, whichever comes first.
• Economy Diesel Engine: Coverage will expire either 12 months from the order date, or 12,000 miles from the odometer at the time of installation, whichever comes first.

Limited Liability for Engines

Yards and Parts Inc.’s liability is limited solely and exclusively to providing either a replacement engine or refunding the purchase price. Yards and Parts Inc. will not cover any labor brokered by the customer.

Owner/User Obligations (MANDATORY)

FAILURE TO PERFORM THESE OPERATIONS VOIDS WARRANTY:

For this warranty to remain in effect, the following must be adhered to, with acceptable service records (not handwritten) being a requirement for any claim:

• Engine oil and filter must be changed for the first 1,000 miles after installation.
• Remaining oil and filter changes must follow the manufacturer’s suggested schedule.
• Oil and temperature light/gauge and speedometer must be in proper working order.
• A new thermostat must be installed.
• A new timing belt must be installed (if applicable).
• The initial oil change and all required maintenance must be done by a commercial facility (not by the purchaser).

Warranty Claim Process and Void Conditions

• Any engine or transmission returned not in the same assembled condition as it was received will not be refunded under any circumstances. If the engine or transmission is disassembled in any way without our express written authorization, it will void the warranty.
• Once a claim has been initiated, the purchaser may not continue to operate the vehicle until a claim decision has been made. Continued operation will void the claim.
• Any work or repair done to the vehicle without prior written authorization from the administrator is not considered an authorized claim.



Engine Diagnostic Report: In the event of a warranty claim, an Engine Diagnostic Report is required from an ASE Certified Automotive Facility.

Authorization: All warranty repairs must be authorized by Yards and Parts Inc. and will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

Documentation Submission: Once you have initiated a warranty claim, you are required to submit ALL the details requested through the Customer Warranty Portal within 5 Business Days, or the warranty will be void.

Continued Operation: Continued operation of the vehicle after an issue has been identified will void the warranty claim.

Falsifying Information: Falsifying information will automatically void your warranty.

Voided Conditions: The warranty will be void if the item is:

• If the item is improperly installed.
• If the item is used for racing.
• If the item is operated without proper lubrication or cooling, regardless of the reason.
• If Damaged because of overheating or lack of lubrication.
• Returned with the heat tabs missing or melted.
• Disassembled in any way without our express written authorization.
• Subject to a breakdown or failure that occurs prior to benefit activation.

Replacement, Refunds, and Returns

• Remedy: Subject to limitations, Yards and Parts Inc. will, at its option, either provide another engine of like kind and quality (if available) or refund the purchase price if the engine is deemed defective. We reserve the right to pay cash for the replacement part's value if a replacement is unavailable.
• Replacement Limit: Replacement of any parts or engines will be done only once under this contract. The replacement is considered a repair; your original installation date and mileage remain in effect.
• Exchanges/Store Credit (After 30 Days): After the part has been in the customer’s possession for more than 30 days, only exchanges or store credits will be issued. Store credits are valid for six months.
• After 3 Months (Refund Deadline): Three months after the date of purchase, refunds will no longer be issued. We can apply for in-store credit (valid for six months) or send a replacement.
• Cancellations (Before Shipment): Subject to a 25% processing and handling fee, and the customer is responsible for any shipping costs incurred.
• Mis-Ordered/Mis-Diagnosed Parts: Assessed a 25% processing charge plus freight both ways.
• Returned Parts (After Installation):Subject to a 25% handling and processing fee, and the customer assumes all shipping costs.
• Return Pickup Window (Warranty Replacement): The part must be made available for pickup within seven working days of a qualified warranty claim, or the warranty will be void.
• Return Pickup Window (Uninstalled Parts):The part must be made available for pickup within three working days for a refund, or no refund will be issued.

Shipping and Core Charge Policy

• Shipping Windows: Orders usually ship within 7–14 business days.
• Residential Delivery Fee:: All residential deliveries incur a $150 shipping charge, unless otherwise agreed.
• Freight Collect: We do NOT accept anything Freight Collect. Freight is not paid under this contract on any parts or engine claims.
• Shipping Damage/Broken Items:: No refunds will be issued if not reported to Yards and Parts Inc. and the freight company within 48 hours of delivery.
• Original Shipping Address:: Pickups of returns, defective items, and/or cores must originate from the shipping address of the original order.



Core Charge and Core Return (A Core Charge may apply):

• No core refund will be issued if there are cracks or holes in the block or head, if the engine is disassembled, or if the core is not returned within 30 days.
• It is the customer’s responsibility to ship the core back. All core shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility.
• Any engine or transmission returned not in the same assembled condition as it was received will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Limited Liability

Yards and Parts Inc. does not assume and has no liability for labor costs, replacement of oil/antifreeze, damage to other parts, towing charges, telephone calls, freight, lost profits, lost time, substitute transportation/rental vehicle, or any other consequential damages.
